TOPIC: KNOWING GOD THROUGH PRAYER - PART 1

Good morning Beloved! Sorry for not being able to get the IGNITE episode to you yesterday, it's due to some unforeseen circumstances beyond control. Expect double portion today!

It's just a day to Christmas, funny how time flies. Do note that Christ Jesus is the reason for the season so He should reflect in all you do.

But on a practical level, how do we really get to know God? How do we experience His love and care? God is Spirit, therefore, how do we have such a deep relationship with God whom we cannot see or touch? One way through which we develop such intimacy with Christ is through PRAYER.

Many a people only see prayer as a means of getting something from God. Certainly, God gives abundantly to His children in response to their requests. But prayer has so much to offer than just a means to obtaining what we want from Him.

Prayer is the communion of two hearts. It's a channel of communication between us and God. Its a platform where we reveal our deepest of feelings to Him and He communicate the depth of His mystery to us.

Prayer is not a religious show whereby we attempt to impress others with our spirituality. It's not a religious duty or obligation.

The art of praying and communing with God is the best you have to understand to experience God.

I want to challenge us this morning, 2016 is around the corner, how do we relate with God to know His will for our lives?

Action Point: Take upon you the mantle of prayer to become the bosom friend of God.

Prayer point: Oh Lord! Let me understand the deep secret of communing with you.
